Lime starter kit IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Lime in San José: 22 units tested over 4 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What lime costs in San José
Lime in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Lime prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.51 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long lime tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a lime starter kit really costs in San José
If you are looking at lime in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested lime in a starter kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every lime bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where lime goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why lime tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On lime the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.51 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How long does lime in a starter kit last?
In San José we measured 4 to 22 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
