Lime in San José: 8 units tested over 4 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
We run lime the same way in San José: same squonk mod, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Lime squonk mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 8 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a lime squonk mod really costs in San José
The honest read on lime: 8 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested lime in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- Batch code and production date, so a lime bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every lime bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where lime goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why lime tastes flat after two days.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does lime taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the lime blend itself harsh.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
What nicotine strength should lime start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a squonk mod.
