Licorice pod kit IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Licorice in San José: 16 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the licorice habit
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Licorice pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 16 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: licorice in San José works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a licorice pod kit really costs in San José
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.09 per 10 ml.
How we tested licorice in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why licorice tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On licorice the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.09 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How long does licorice in a pod kit last?
In San José we measured 5 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
