Pear squonk mod IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Pear in San José: 8 units tested over 6 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the pear habit
We run pear the same way in San José: same squonk mod, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The honest read on pear: 8 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: pear in San José works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a pear squonk mod really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested pear in a squonk mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
Where pear goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long pear in San José survives.
- Treating the advertised ₡55 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.81 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

Frequently asked questions
How long does pear in a squonk mod last?
In San José we measured 6 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does pear taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the pear blend itself harsh.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
