Licorice mesh tank IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Licorice in San José: 13 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What licorice costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Licorice prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.04 per 10 ml.
The short version: licorice in San José works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a licorice mesh tank really costs in San José
If you are looking at licorice in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested licorice in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where licorice goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.04 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
