Coil life, liquid cost and the iced habit
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
Iced prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.36 per 10 ml.
The short version: iced in San José works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a iced mesh tank really costs in San José
The honest read on iced: 19 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested iced in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for mesh tank in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where iced goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long iced in San José survives.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does iced taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the iced blend itself harsh.
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.36 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On iced the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.36 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
