Home / Herbal starter kit IQOS in San José: the online shortlist

Coil life, liquid cost and the herbal habit

Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.

There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long herbal tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

What a herbal starter kit really costs in San José

Herbal prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.99 per 10 ml.

How we tested herbal in a starter kit

1. Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
2. Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
3. Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.

• The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
• Batch code and production date, so a herbal bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
• Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
• The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.

Where herbal goes wrong

• Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
• Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why herbal tastes flat after two days.
• Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.

The rules that apply here

Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
