Herbal starter kit IQOS in San José: the guide shortlist
Herbal in San José: 24 units tested over 8 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Herbal is allowed to say
Herbal in San José reaches the shelf in starter kit formats, and the starter ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Herbal in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: herbal in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a herbal starter kit really costs in San José
A herbal starter kit from the starter options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.15 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested herbal in a starter kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every herbal bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where herbal goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why herbal tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Packaging for herbal in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
How long does herbal in a starter kit last?
In San José we measured 8 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
What nicotine strength should herbal start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a starter kit.
