The short version: graphite in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a graphite refill pack really costs in San José
A graphite refill pack from the starter options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.43 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested graphite in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Mixing graphite with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Treating the advertised ₡59 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.43 per 10 ml.
