Guava refill pack IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Guava in San José: 10 units tested over 9 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the guava habit
The honest read on guava: 10 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Below is the run we did for this search: 10 units, refill pack, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a guava refill pack really costs in San José
Guava in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested guava in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 10 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
Where guava goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why guava tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing guava with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for guava in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
