Guava pod kit IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Guava in San José: 12 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with guava in Costa Rica
Guava in San José reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Guava in a pod kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The short version: guava in San José works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a guava pod kit really costs in San José
Guava prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.9 per 10 ml.
How we tested guava in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every guava bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 12 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where guava goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why guava tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should guava start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a pod kit.
Why does guava taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the guava blend itself harsh.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
