Guava pod kit IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Guava in San José: 19 units tested over 2 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Guava is allowed to say
Guava pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 19 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long guava tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a guava pod kit really costs in San José
We run guava the same way in San José: same pod kit, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
How we tested guava in a pod kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where guava goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why guava tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.9 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
