Graphite box mod IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Graphite in San José: 11 units tested over 9 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with graphite in Costa Rica
Graphite box mod reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Graphite prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.78 per 10 ml.
The short version: graphite in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a graphite box mod really costs in San José
The honest read on graphite: 11 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested graphite in a box mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every graphite bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a graphite bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where graphite goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why graphite tastes flat after two days.
- Treating the advertised ₡56 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.78 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a box mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
