Grapey mesh tank IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Grapey in San José: 7 units tested over 3 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good mesh tank from a repack
If you are looking at grapey in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the mesh tank you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
A grapey mesh tank from the online options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.66 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long grapey tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a grapey mesh tank really costs in San José
Grapey in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested grapey in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Batch code and production date, so a grapey bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the mesh tank, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where grapey goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.66 per 10 ml.
- Mixing grapey with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.

Frequently asked questions
Why does grapey taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the grapey blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On grapey the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.66 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
How long does grapey in a mesh tank last?
In San José we measured 3 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
