Fig cartomizer IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Fig in San José: 12 units tested over 9 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Fig is allowed to say
We run fig the same way in San José: same cartomizer, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Fig sounds like one product. It is not: a cartomizer running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
The short version: fig in San José works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a fig cartomizer really costs in San José
A fig cartomizer from the pre-order options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.4 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested fig in a cartomizer
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the cartomizer that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a cartomizer arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where fig goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a cartomizer that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing fig with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
