Coil life, liquid cost and the dessert habit
We run dessert the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 4 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.

The short version: dessert in San José works if the vape pen, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a dessert vape pen really costs in San José
Dessert sounds like one product. It is not: a vape pen running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested dessert in a vape pen
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Spare parts availability for vape pen in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Batch code and production date, so a dessert bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every dessert bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Mixing dessert with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a vape pen that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Treating the advertised ₡41 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.47 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for dessert in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Is dessert legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.47 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡41 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does dessert taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the dessert blend itself harsh.
