Dessert starter kit IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Dessert in San José: 15 units tested over 9 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with dessert in Costa Rica
Dessert sounds like one product. It is not: a starter kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
If you are looking at dessert in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the starter kit you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The short version: dessert in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a dessert starter kit really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested dessert in a starter kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every dessert bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Stock depth: 15 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for starter kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡58 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.03 per 10 ml.
- Mixing dessert with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
