Dessert cartomizer IQOS in San José: the online shortlist
Dessert in San José: 22 units tested over 7 weeks, cartomizer formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Dessert cartomizer here
Dessert sounds like one product. It is not: a cartomizer running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Dessert cartomizer reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 22 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: dessert in San José works if the cartomizer, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a dessert cartomizer really costs in San José
Dessert in a cartomizer is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested dessert in a cartomizer
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a dessert bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the cartomizer, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where dessert goes wrong
- Buying the cheapest cartomizer available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised ₡45 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.5 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a cartomizer that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
