Caramel mesh tank IQOS in San José: the compare shortlist
Caramel in San José: 6 units tested over 9 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
Caramel mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 6 units and 9 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel mesh tank really costs in San José
The honest read on caramel: 6 units through the same routine over 9 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested caramel in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the mesh tank that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a mesh tank arrives sealed but wrong.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a mesh tank that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
How long does caramel in a mesh tank last?
In San José we measured 9 to 6 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
