Cream box mod IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Cream in San José: 19 units tested over 7 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a box mod for cream
The honest read on cream: 19 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Cream sounds like one product. It is not: a box mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Below is the run we did for this search: 19 units, box mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a cream box mod really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested cream in a box mod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 19 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every cream bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Coil type inside the box mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Batch code and production date, so a cream bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where cream goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a box mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why cream tastes flat after two days.
- Mixing cream with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Packaging for cream in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

On the last run in San José: about ₡3.31 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡60 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On cream the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡3.31 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
