Coconut sub-ohm kit IQOS in San José: the review shortlist
Coconut in San José: 14 units tested over 4 weeks, sub-ohm kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What coconut costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Coconut sub-ohm kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 14 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: coconut in San José works if the sub-ohm kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coconut sub-ohm kit really costs in San José
Coconut prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.72 per 10 ml.
How we tested coconut in a sub-ohm kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the sub-ohm kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every coconut bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Coil type inside the sub-ohm kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why coconut tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a sub-ohm kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Mixing coconut with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.

Frequently asked questions
Is coconut legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
What nicotine strength should coconut start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a sub-ohm kit.
Why does coconut taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the sub-ohm kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the coconut blend itself harsh.
