Coconut squonk mod IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Coconut in San José: 6 units tested over 6 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with coconut in Costa Rica
We run coconut the same way in San José: same squonk mod, same 6 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Coconut prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.26 per 10 ml.
The short version: coconut in San José works if the squonk mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a coconut squonk mod really costs in San José
A coconut squonk mod from the bulk options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.26 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested coconut in a squonk mod
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a coconut bottle turned in 6 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 6 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where coconut goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡40 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.26 per 10 ml.
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
