Home / Citrus vape pen IQOS in San José: the best shortlist

Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version

There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.

We run citrus the same way in San José: same vape pen, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.

Below is the run we did for this search: 14 units, vape pen, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.

What a citrus vape pen really costs in San José

The honest read on citrus: 14 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.

How we tested citrus in a vape pen

1. Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
2. Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
3. Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.

• Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
• Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
• The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
• Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every citrus bottle shipped into Costa Rica.

Where citrus goes wrong

• Ignoring the batch date on a vape pen and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
• Mixing citrus with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
• Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in San José survives.

The rules that apply here

Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
