Citrus in San José: 13 units tested over 5 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Citrus starter kit here
A citrus starter kit from the best options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.93 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
The honest read on citrus: 13 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: citrus in San José works if the starter kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a citrus starter kit really costs in San José

How we tested citrus in a starter kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 13 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Mixing citrus with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised ₡34 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.93 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for citrus in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
Why does citrus taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the starter kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the citrus blend itself harsh.
How much does a starter kit cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.93 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡34 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
