Citrus pod kit IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Citrus in San José: 8 units tested over 7 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a pod kit for citrus
A citrus pod kit from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.25 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Citrus in San José reaches the shelf in pod kit formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long citrus tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a citrus pod kit really costs in San José
The honest read on citrus: 8 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested citrus in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every citrus bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a pod kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡32 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.25 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
