Citrus pen device IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Citrus in San José: 19 units tested over 5 weeks, pen device formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Citrus pen device here
Citrus sounds like one product. It is not: a pen device running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Citrus in San José reaches the shelf in pen device formats, and the pre-order ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Below is the run we did for this search: 19 units, pen device, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a citrus pen device really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested citrus in a pen device
- Pick the pen device that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a citrus bottle turned in 5 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Coil type inside the pen device, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where citrus goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a pen device that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long citrus in San José survives.
- Ignoring the batch date on a pen device and discovering the listed price was for old stock.

In San José we measured 5 to 19 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
