Cherry refill pack IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Cherry in San José: 17 units tested over 7 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
Cherry refill pack reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 17 units and 7 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: cherry in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a cherry refill pack really costs in San José
Cherry in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested cherry in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where cherry goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡47 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.1 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why cherry tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
Why does cherry taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the cherry blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should cherry start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
