Caramel starter kit IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Caramel in San José: 22 units tested over 7 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Caramel starter kit here
Caramel in a starter kit is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The honest read on caramel: 22 units through the same routine over 7 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 22 units, starter kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a caramel starter kit really costs in San José
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.11 per 10 ml.
How we tested caramel in a starter kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a starter kit arrives sealed but wrong.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest starter kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
