Caramel squonk mod IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Caramel in San José: 8 units tested over 8 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Delivery, returns and what 4–9 business days really means
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
The honest read on caramel: 8 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 8 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a caramel squonk mod really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested caramel in a squonk mod
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Stock depth: 8 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡42 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.62 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a squonk mod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest squonk mod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
