Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
Caramel in San José reaches the shelf in RDA formats, and the budget ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Caramel RDA reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 16 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
The short version: caramel in San José works if the RDA, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel RDA really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested caramel in a RDA
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a RDA and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised ₡38 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.63 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
