Caramel pod kit IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Caramel in San José: 9 units tested over 4 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Stock, batch codes and the dispatch window
A caramel pod kit from the bulk options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.59 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡2.59 per 10 ml.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel pod kit really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested caramel in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long caramel in San José survives.
- Buying the cheapest pod kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here

Packaging for caramel in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
