Caramel pod kit IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Caramel in San José: 11 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the caramel habit
Caramel pod kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 5 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run caramel the same way in San José: same pod kit, same 5 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: caramel in San José works if the pod kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel pod kit really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested caramel in a pod kit
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Coil type inside the pod kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Stock depth: 11 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.89 per 10 ml.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
