Caramel mesh tank IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Caramel in San José: 21 units tested over 2 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good mesh tank from a repack
The honest read on caramel: 21 units through the same routine over 2 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Caramel in San José reaches the shelf in mesh tank formats, and the value ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the mesh tank you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel mesh tank really costs in San José
A caramel mesh tank from the value options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.45 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested caramel in a mesh tank
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why caramel tastes flat after two days.
- Buying the cheapest mesh tank available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
How long does caramel in a mesh tank last?
In San José we measured 2 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
How much does a mesh tank cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.45 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡41 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
