Honey 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Honey in San José: 18 units tested over 5 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What honey costs in San José
Honey in a 30 ml shortfill is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
The short version: honey in San José works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a honey 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
A honey 30 ml shortfill from the budget options in Costa Rica costs about ₡3.31 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested honey in a 30 ml shortfill
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every honey bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for 30 ml shortfill in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where honey goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why honey tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a 30 ml shortfill and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Chasing a discount on a 30 ml shortfill that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.

Frequently asked questions
Why does honey taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the 30 ml shortfill units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the honey blend itself harsh.
Is honey legal to sell in Costa Rica?
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
What nicotine strength should honey start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a 30 ml shortfill.
