Caramel 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Caramel in San José: 21 units tested over 3 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Caramel is allowed to say
Caramel in San José reaches the shelf in 30 ml shortfill formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡1.67 per 10 ml.
The short version: caramel in San José works if the 30 ml shortfill, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a caramel 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
The honest read on caramel: 21 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested caramel in a 30 ml shortfill
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Batch code and production date, so a caramel bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long caramel in San José survives.
- Treating the advertised ₡28 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡1.67 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
