Candy squonk mod IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Candy in San José: 11 units tested over 7 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a squonk mod for candy
Candy in a squonk mod is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you are looking at candy in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the squonk mod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
If you only read one line: the squonk mod you buy decides how long candy tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a candy squonk mod really costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
How we tested candy in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every candy bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Coil type inside the squonk mod, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where candy goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why candy tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.26 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡48 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does candy taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the candy blend itself harsh.
