Candy box mod IQOS in San José: the wholesale shortlist
Candy in San José: 16 units tested over 2 weeks, box mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Choosing a box mod for candy
A candy box mod from the bulk options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.68 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
We run candy the same way in San José: same box mod, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: candy in San José works if the box mod, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a candy box mod really costs in San José
A candy box mod from the bulk options in Costa Rica costs about ₡1.68 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
How we tested candy in a box mod
- Pick the box mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Batch code and production date, so a candy bottle turned in 2 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 16 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
Where candy goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why candy tastes flat after two days.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for candy in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On candy the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡1.68 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
How long does candy in a box mod last?
In San José we measured 2 to 16 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
What nicotine strength should candy start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a box mod.
