Blackcurrant sub-ohm kit IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Blackcurrant in San José: 15 units tested over 2 weeks, sub-ohm kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Blackcurrant sub-ohm kit here
We run blackcurrant the same way in San José: same sub-ohm kit, same 2 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
The short version: blackcurrant in San José works if the sub-ohm kit, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a blackcurrant sub-ohm kit really costs in San José
Blackcurrant sub-ohm kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 15 units and 2 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested blackcurrant in a sub-ohm kit
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the sub-ohm kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every blackcurrant bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Spare parts availability for sub-ohm kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the sub-ohm kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Buying the cheapest sub-ohm kit available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the sub-ohm kit units we ran, a coil past 4 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
How long does blackcurrant in a sub-ohm kit last?
In San José we measured 2 to 15 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
