Blackcurrant sub-ohm kit IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Blackcurrant in San José: 12 units tested over 3 weeks, sub-ohm kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What blackcurrant costs in San José
Blackcurrant sounds like one product. It is not: a sub-ohm kit running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Blackcurrant sub-ohm kit reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 12 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Below is the run we did for this search: 12 units, sub-ohm kit, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a blackcurrant sub-ohm kit really costs in San José
The honest read on blackcurrant: 12 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested blackcurrant in a sub-ohm kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the sub-ohm kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Spare parts availability for sub-ohm kit in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where blackcurrant goes wrong
- Treating the advertised ₡55 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.53 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a sub-ohm kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why blackcurrant tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
How long does blackcurrant in a sub-ohm kit last?
In San José we measured 3 to 12 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does blackcurrant taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the sub-ohm kit units we ran, a coil past 7 days turned the blackcurrant blend itself harsh.
