Berry vape pen IQOS in San José: the budget shortlist
Berry in San José: 11 units tested over 8 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with berry in Costa Rica
The honest read on berry: 11 units through the same routine over 8 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Berry vape pen reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the vape pen you buy decides how long berry tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a berry vape pen really costs in San José
Berry vape pen reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 11 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
How we tested berry in a vape pen
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Pick the vape pen that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a berry bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where berry goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why berry tastes flat after two days.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long berry in San José survives.
- Mixing berry with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

Frequently asked questions
Why does berry taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the berry blend itself harsh.
What nicotine strength should berry start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a vape pen.
How long does berry in a vape pen last?
In San José we measured 8 to 11 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
