Apple vape pen IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Apple in San José: 23 units tested over 8 weeks, vape pen formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What the label on Apple is allowed to say
Apple in a vape pen is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
If you are looking at apple in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the vape pen you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
Below is the run we did for this search: 23 units, vape pen, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a apple vape pen really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested apple in a vape pen
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Stock depth: 23 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the vape pen, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a vape pen arrives sealed but wrong.
Where apple goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised ₡64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.27 per 10 ml.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
The rules that apply here

Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.

Frequently asked questions
What nicotine strength should apple start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a vape pen.
How much does a vape pen cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡3.27 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡64 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does apple taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the vape pen units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the apple blend itself harsh.
