Apple refill pack IQOS in San José: the best shortlist
Apple in San José: 17 units tested over 3 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
Apple refill pack reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 17 units and 3 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
We run apple the same way in San José: same refill pack, same 3 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
The short version: apple in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a apple refill pack really costs in San José
Apple sounds like one product. It is not: a refill pack running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested apple in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where apple goes wrong
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised ₡62 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.07 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
Packaging for apple in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On apple the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.07 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
What nicotine strength should apple start at?
Start at whatever Costa Rica allows on the label. If you already smoke, drop one step; if not, half of it for a refill pack.
Why does apple taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the apple blend itself harsh.
