Vanilla refill pack IQOS in San José: the order shortlist
Vanilla in San José: 7 units tested over 3 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Ordering IQOS to San José: the practical version
Vanilla in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
The honest read on vanilla: 7 units through the same routine over 3 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Below is the run we did for this search: 7 units, refill pack, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a vanilla refill pack really costs in San José
If you are looking at vanilla in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
How we tested vanilla in a refill pack
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Stock depth: 7 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Spare parts availability for refill pack in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Chasing a discount on a refill pack that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Ordering in bulk without checking whether couriers in Costa Rica accept nicotine freight.
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority.

Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
