Vanilla RDA IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Vanilla in San José: 24 units tested over 7 weeks, RDA formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
What vanilla costs in San José
There is no single best way to buy IQOS in Costa Rica. There is only the batch that arrived, the coil that came with it, and whether the shop tracks the production run.
A vanilla RDA from the flat-rate options in Costa Rica costs about ₡2.05 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the RDA you buy decides how long vanilla tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a vanilla RDA really costs in San José
Vanilla in San José reaches the shelf in RDA formats, and the flat-rate ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
How we tested vanilla in a RDA
- Pick the RDA that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Batch code and production date, so a vanilla bottle turned in 7 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Stock depth: 24 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a RDA arrives sealed but wrong.
- Spare parts availability for RDA in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Treating the advertised ₡48 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.05 per 10 ml.
- Skipping the spare coil, which is the single part that decides how long vanilla in San José survives.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Wholesale lines to Costa Rica need import documents the retail shop does not; ask for them in writing before a bulk order.

Frequently asked questions
Why does vanilla taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the RDA units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the vanilla blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On vanilla the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.05 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
How long does vanilla in a RDA last?
In San José we measured 7 to 24 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
