Vanilla prefilled pod IQOS in San José: the flat shortlist
Vanilla in San José: 22 units tested over 7 weeks, prefilled pod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How to tell a good prefilled pod from a repack
If you are looking at vanilla in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the prefilled pod you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
We run vanilla the same way in San José: same prefilled pod, same 7 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
Below is the run we did for this search: 22 units, prefilled pod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a vanilla prefilled pod really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested vanilla in a prefilled pod
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the prefilled pod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Stock depth: 22 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Spare parts availability for prefilled pod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why vanilla tastes flat after two days.
- Chasing a discount on a prefilled pod that then needs an adapter nobody in Costa Rica stocks.
- Buying the cheapest prefilled pod available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
