Vanilla mesh tank IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Vanilla in San José: 24 units tested over 4 weeks, mesh tank formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Vanilla mesh tank here
Vanilla mesh tank reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 24 units and 4 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
Vanilla in San José reaches the shelf in mesh tank formats, and the discounted ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
The short version: vanilla in San José works if the mesh tank, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.
What a vanilla mesh tank really costs in San José
Vanilla in a mesh tank is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
How we tested vanilla in a mesh tank
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a vanilla bottle turned in 4 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- The listed nicotine ceiling, which is the local legal limit in Costa Rica, not a suggestion.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Mixing vanilla with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Ignoring the batch date on a mesh tank and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
The rules that apply here
Costa Rica regulates nicotine imports under its health authority. Shipping of nicotine to Costa Rica runs through tracked freight only, which is why the quoted window is stated per order.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.

Frequently asked questions
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On vanilla the budget price and the premium price can sit within ₡2.6 per 10 ml once 4–9 business days is counted.
Why does vanilla taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the mesh tank units we ran, a coil past 5 days turned the vanilla blend itself harsh.
Can I order IQOS online in Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked dispatch before 14:00, and delivery lands in 4–9 business days. Stock is batch-traced, so the bottle you receive carries a dated code.
