Vanilla 30 ml shortfill IQOS in San José: the deals shortlist
Vanilla in San José: 8 units tested over 8 weeks, 30 ml shortfill formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Vanilla 30 ml shortfill here
Vanilla prices move with import duty more than with brand. In San José that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within ₡3.25 per 10 ml.
Vanilla 30 ml shortfill reviews tend to be written after one tank. We run 8 units and 8 days per unit, because that is where the honest answer changes.
If you only read one line: the 30 ml shortfill you buy decides how long vanilla tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a vanilla 30 ml shortfill really costs in San José
Vanilla sounds like one product. It is not: a 30 ml shortfill running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
How we tested vanilla in a 30 ml shortfill
- Pick the 30 ml shortfill that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Batch code and production date, so a vanilla bottle turned in 8 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a 30 ml shortfill arrives sealed but wrong.
- Coil type inside the 30 ml shortfill, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where vanilla goes wrong
- Mixing vanilla with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Buying the cheapest 30 ml shortfill available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
- Treating the advertised ₡64 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡3.25 per 10 ml.
The rules that apply here
Packaging for vanilla in Costa Rica must be child-resistant, and the batch code has to be readable without cutting the shrink wrap.
Retail sales in Costa Rica sit under the same nicotine the label declares, which is the local legal limit. Anything above it is not sold through this channel.
