Tropical in San José: 21 units tested over 6 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Coil life, liquid cost and the tropical habit
If you are looking at tropical in Costa Rica, the first question is not strength. It is whether the refill pack you are quoting actually fits the device on your desk.
The honest read on tropical: 21 units through the same routine over 6 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
The short version: tropical in San José works if the refill pack, the coil and the strength are chosen as one system. Everything below is what we measured while doing exactly that.

How we tested tropical in a refill pack
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Stock depth: 21 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tropical bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Coil type inside the refill pack, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
Where tropical goes wrong
- Mixing tropical with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Assuming varies is uniform across brands, because two suppliers can label the same number differently.
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tropical tastes flat after two days.

Frequently asked questions
How long does tropical in a refill pack last?
In San José we measured 6 to 21 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
Why does tropical taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the refill pack units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tropical blend itself harsh.
Do you ship tracked orders to Costa Rica?
Yes, tracked to 4–9 business days, with the same-day cut-off at 14:00. Bulk orders get an import note attached before dispatch.
