Tobacco squonk mod IQOS in San José: the price shortlist
Tobacco in San José: 7 units tested over 4 weeks, squonk mod formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
How we tested Tobacco squonk mod here
The honest read on tobacco: 7 units through the same routine over 4 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
Tobacco sounds like one product. It is not: a squonk mod running varies will taste nothing like the same blend on a different device, which is why we test before we recommend.
Below is the run we did for this search: 7 units, squonk mod, same room temperature, same juice rotation. Where results varied, the variation is printed rather than averaged away.
What a tobacco squonk mod really costs in San José
Ordering into San José usually means waiting 4–9 business days. Plan the reorder around that, not around the flavour you like best.
How we tested tobacco in a squonk mod
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Pick the squonk mod that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a squonk mod arrives sealed but wrong.
- A dated dispatch promise: before 14:00 same day, tracked, so no order is held to a warehouse cut-off.
- Spare parts availability for squonk mod in Costa Rica, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Matching strength to the device instead of the draw, which is why tobacco tastes flat after two days.
- Ignoring the batch date on a squonk mod and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised ₡61 entry kit as the real cost when refills run ₡2.57 per 10 ml.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a squonk mod cost per 10 ml?
On the last run in San José: about ₡2.57 per 10 ml liquid plus ₡61 for the entry kit, before any bulk discount.
Why does tobacco taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the squonk mod units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the tobacco blend itself harsh.
How long does tobacco in a squonk mod last?
In San José we measured 4 to 7 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
