Tobacco refill pack IQOS in San José: the cheap shortlist
Tobacco in San José: 16 units tested over 3 weeks, refill pack formats, priced per 10 ml for Costa Rica.
Where buyers go wrong with tobacco in Costa Rica
Tobacco in a refill pack is not the same product you see in a catalogue photo, and the price per 10 ml is where the gap shows. In San José the liquid, the coil and the power setting all have to agree before the flavour actually lands.
Tobacco in San José reaches the shelf in refill pack formats, and the cheapest ones are rarely the ones that stay in stock. Availability, not taste, is what breaks an order.
If you only read one line: the refill pack you buy decides how long tobacco tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a tobacco refill pack really costs in San José
Most people searching IQOS in Costa Rica are not after a spec sheet. They want to know what it costs, how long it lasts and which shop will still service it in three months.
How we tested tobacco in a refill pack
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 4–9 business days.
- Pick the refill pack that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Costa Rica, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every tobacco bottle shipped into Costa Rica.
- Batch code and production date, so a tobacco bottle turned in 3 weeks ago is not sold as new.
- Returns window and who pays return postage when a refill pack arrives sealed but wrong.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 4–9 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where tobacco goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a refill pack and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Mixing tobacco with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Buying the cheapest refill pack available and repeating it because the first coil burnt.
The rules that apply here
